Connection is Nourishment

Connection is Nourishment

“The table is a meeting place, a gathering ground, the source of
sustenance and nourishment, festivity, safety, and satisfaction. A
person cooking is a person giving.” - Laurie Colwin

There is nothing better than sharing a hot meal with warm friends.
Laughing together and learning from each other across a table is the
most ancient of ways that humans connect. It does not just meet the
physical needs of the body.   It fulfills the needs of our souls. The
slow intentionality of sharing a meal is exactly the same spirit with
which we write letters. Intention.

An Italian dinner table isn’t about simply consuming. It's about
experiencing and belonging. It’s about being cared for and seen. The
food isn’t just sustenance.  It's story. There is no rush. There is no
goal outside of lingering in love. It’s reaching for others.

We imagined this parcel theme with the idea that connection is
nourishment,  and that we have the ability to sustain with our words
of sympathy, encouragement, or celebration. We catch up in meaningful
ways through handwritten letters in the same way we do when sharing a
table.

There is no age limit or life circumstances that is not infused with
joy by a handwritten letter or a gathered meal. This is the heart of
Postmark’d Studio.  We reach for each other.
